I'm moving out in less than a month. I've signed the contract, paid the deposit so the easy part is done with.

One major reason I'm moving out is because I want a good relationship with my parents in the long run. But I think, at 22, the longer I stay here, the more difficult it is doing so. I'd say we're a normal family but every little argument automatically makes it hard for me to sleep/focus on schoolwork. Plus, I need to break some habits/attitudes because I think I'm starting to develop some of theirs.

As you can see, I have a reason for moving out, but that's not what I want to tell them. So how do I tell them? "Yo ma, dad, I'm moving out. Peace!"?

Whats the percentages required for minimum A-? Im around 80-83 range for all my courses...
Also how is gpa determined? Is it straight up based on your letter grades?
Eg: A+ is a 4.3, A is a 4.0 and A- is a 3.7
Or is it calculated based on the percentage mark for the course?
Meaning gpa = %mark in course * 4.3

I decided that, rather than do CMNS 130W this term, I'm going to power through the last of my LD business classes and take BUEC 232 in it's place. Since there's no waitlist, I have to camp it out to wait for a spot to open. Hopefully one will today, gonna check every 20 minutes or so to see if someone dropped it, since I'll be working on an essay all day anyways. So now my schedule will be:

MATH 157 w/ Stephen Choi
BUEC 232 w/ George Zhang
BUS 237 w/ Kamal Masri
ECON 103 w/ Iryna Dudnyk

Is this term going to be brutal? I mean, I know it probably isn't as intense as most science students doing five classes a term in preparation for med school, or engineering students, but math isn't my strongest subject. I just figured that, if I take these all in the fall, then when October rolls around I can apply for a transfer into Business for Spring 2011 admittance. And if my GPA for some reason doesn't end up being high enough, I can retake a class or two in the Spring and apply for Summer admittance.

Some more stuff now: has anyone taken BUS 207 with Karen Ruckman? I'm probably going to end up doing that in the Spring term, and I've heard from many people that 207 is definitely one of the hardest classes you'll do in Business. Any truth behind this? If I don't need to do any retakes, then I'll probably get 254 over and done with as well.

Also, since it'll take me until the end of the Spring term to reach over 60 credits, what is normally recommended for your first term of UD business courses? I figured that 360W for sure is one, maybe 312 (finance), and 336 (data & decisions 2). What did you end up doing? If it matters, I plan on doing two concentrations, in Marketing and HRM.

Thanks a bunch in advance!

I originally didn't require CHEM 126 for my degree (Biological Physics), but I've recently switched to MBB, which requires it. I took CHEM 121 in my first year, and I'm now in my third year, so I've forgotten most of the material. I'm sure I'll need to know how to balance chemical equations and do stochiometric calculations, but is there anything else I'm going to need to know?

If I didn't, please refer people to me for rent =), a little bit about my family, the reason why we prefer female only is because my dad often goes to china long term for business purposes, and I goto the states frequently for my business aswell. So that leaves my mom here by herself, that's why we're looking for decent female tenants who are easy to get along with so my mom doesn't have to stress over the whole thing.
Hi all,

I just got accepted two days ago for behavioural neuroscience program at SFU fall term 2010. I already completed two years of post-secondary education at an university in Ontario, doublemajoring in bio/psych. I know I will sound like a complete noob but I am a bit overwhelemed with SFU's registering system.

1. Is registering for classes done on SIS?
2. When does registering for classes actually begin?
3. Has anyone here transferred from another university? Who did you have to contact for transfer credits?
4. If you are in the behavioural neuroscience program, what is your general thoughts/opinions on the program? I understand that it is a fairly new program offered at SFU...And also, how fast do classes fill up for this program?

On a not-so-academic note, do you recommend living on residence? Or is there better, more affordable housing available elsewhere off-campus in close proximity?

Sorry to bombard you all with these noob-sounding questions, especially this post being my very first! If anyone can answer all, or if not any of the questions, I will be very grateful :)

Thanks again for your time!
