I'm writing a complaint letter that's 3 pages long and growing, but I'll give you guys a quick summary...

1. I order three compact flash cards online
2. I get an email that they can't process my order due to a Visa problem
3. I email and call to find out WHAT the problem was
4. No response for a few days
5. I call customer service, she is an idiot, says she can't help me or put me through to anyone who can
6. I ask her to cancel my order. Problem solved, right? Nope.
7. The order is charged to me and shipped out.
8. I don't need the CF cards anymore cuz I got them somewhere else.
9. I email the same lady who wrote me originally, asking for her to authorize me returning them.
10. She finally replies after 2 more emails and says I can send them back but gives no instructions.
11. I write more unanswered emails.
12. I try to use their customer chat online. They say 3 minute wait. I wait for over 2 hours before giving up!
13. I fill out a form on the website for return authorization.
14. Get an email asking for my contact info for the return, I reply.
15. Get ANOTHER email saying my info didn't match what they had, I reply and send info again.
16... Waiting still. I emailed a supervisor and I've been compiling a long letter detailing the whole ordeal... It seems to be amazingly difficult just to correct their own mistake!

Just thought I'd let you guys know that Dell.ca has THE WORST customer service I've ever encountered in an online company. I do a lot of online shopping! Be warned and buy things somewhere else!

Is anyone Catholic here?

I am. I've always been a follower, I guess. I use to go to church every Sunday, pray everynight, had strong faith I would say.. But, now, for a while, I've been questioning everything.

There are so many types of Catholics out there. Catholics that say they are catholic but don't really go to church or practice any of their faith. Catholics like me I guess, that try their best to do everything the bible says BUT is finding very difficult to follow everything that is taught. OR... very extreme catholics that try to follow EVERYTHING in the bible. Even the teachings that may seen unreasonable for this day and age.

My boyfriend and I have been together for quite some time now. He's a believer in God but doesn't believe it is necessary to be a part of any religion. We fight constantly about this and it's really frustrating sometimes. Ever since I've been with him, my mind has been so guilty because we have sex before we are married and do all those things that Catholics would call "mortal sins". Mortal sins are the worst type of sins, I believe and I was taught that I can go to hell for it.

I believe that the commandments and the "rules" that are set in the bible are for the betterment of us. My boyfriend believes that the bible was written so long ago. Back in the time when children would be married off very early. So this rule was only relative to that time period back then to protect the children, who probably got married off at a very young age.

I believe premarital sex is for the betterment of everyone. It prevents unwanted births, etc.

But there are some things that Roman Catholicism teaches that I find unbelievable and very unreasonable. Such as, the use of condoms. They believe any artificial means, such as the pill or condoms, of birth control are sinful. Some "extreme" catholics even believe that sex is only for procreation and not for pleasure. They believe they have found proof in the bible that says even passionate kisses are wrong. I know some extreme catholics who even count the number of seconds their kisses last just to make sure it doesn't become "passionate". It is also sinful to intentionally get an errection or to intentionally try to sexually arrouse someone.

Also, the Sabbath. I was taught to keep it holy and to not work on that day. But some people take it as far as not going shopping on Sunday or trying to avoid doing homework on Sunday. Isn't that too extreme?

There are things that my boyfriend always questions. If sex wasn't for pleasure, why did God create it?

For a while now, I have stopped going to church. Communion (eating the Body and drinking the Blood of Jesus) is necessary in Catholicism. But I can't because it is sinful to do so when you are not pure or full of sin. The only way to get rid of sins is to go to confession. But I feel like I can't go or shouldn't go because I feel I would commit those "sins" again. Such as having pre-marital sex. My bf and I are in a long distance relationship. It's very hard for us to feel connected so sex is a good way to connect ourselves after several months being apart.

Everytime I try to bring up giving up sex and tell him to respect me, he always asks, "Why don't you respect me? Why do you force me to follow?" I love him. It's so hard for me and I know it's hard for him too. He always says he'll try but he's been finding it so hard. Our relationship seems to crumble everytime this topic arises. I don't want to lose him but I still want to be close to God. What can I do?

I know if I ask any advice of a priest, he'll just tell me to let go of him. The priest will tell me that if he doesn't respect me, he won't be worth my time. But how about me?? I find it hard to respect my bf just because of the teachings of the Church. It's really a dilemma. Either I give up my bf or the Church. And I can't seem to do either.

Please give me your advice, opinions on anything that I have just mentioned. Thanks

....Spending Christmas with? Or are you spending it alone?

I spent xmas alone ONCE and I hated every second of it. I missed my family so much that I refused to answer their calls when they tried to wish me a merry christmas, because I knew I would break down in tears. LOL.

I'm spending Christmas with my family and I'm SO excited!!! I usually go up Island to spend xmas with some of them, but this year ALL of them are coming to Van. We'll be somewhat spread out all over the place, since there's a ton of us, but we're having a huge Christmas dinner and so far there's 90 of us attending.

But what I'm mostly excited about is, seeing my grandmother and gramps (he's not my real grandfather, so i call him gramps, but I luv him just the same. ) My gran and gramps are getting really old and I'm very, very suprised that they're making it all the way here, considering their health.

EVERYONE WILL BE HERE TOMORROW! I'M SO EXCITED I CAN PUKE! :teeth: lol

So....who will you be with on Christmas?

After writing many exams over the years, I've learned to appreciate the skill involved. YES exam writing is a skill. Because of this, there are some people who recieve a higher mark than they really deserve while others recieve a lower mark than they deserve. One of the reasons for this, in my opinion, is that being able to study a whole semesters worth of notes and textbook readings in little over a week is no easy feat - especially for up to 5 classes at a time. While some students have mastered the strategy of studying, others go into final exams with a very haphazard approach. Understanding the purpose of a final exam and the resulting questions that will be asked is key to this strategy. Its all about the BIG PICTURE as opposed to specific details.

Anyways, thats my philosophy. After all the exams i've bombed...at least I learned that much. U guys have anything to dispute/add to this?

O.k. this might be a heated topic, so if it gets out of hand, I will delete the thread. Ok so here goes...

When people tell me that someone they know is in the hospital or dying or something, I do not feel any sadness. When people pass away and people always say RIP and feel sad, I do not feel sad. I do not understand why. Death is expected in life whether it come from natural causes or by an accident. We live to die.

If i was to learn that my friend had passed away, I would feel a little uneasy. But more like 'damn, he is really gone' as oppose to crying my eyes out.

Am I being insensitive? My mother passed away when I was 11 and although I took it hard, I do not think I shed a tear. I believe in fate and if it was meant to be it is meant to be.

Am I abnormal?

I started my first day of four, in a temporary job, at a warehouse in Langley. My working companions are working-class, their language is extremely working-class, the nature of their work is working-class, it's extremely monotonous, extremely undemanding when it comes to job skills, skills required for the job, and bringing, for instance, a copy of The Globe and Mail or Time Magazine into the lunch room would trigger snickers among them.

It literally is 'eff this, **** that, c***' approximately every 10 or so seconds in conversation, it was today and i'm not kidding. Yet there's something inherently comical about them, their language I'll give an example "I hear Bob's getting drunk as hell this christmas"....it's just so typically 'non-educated' It's quite reassuring really, in a strange way.

I'm not going to be politically correct about this, and i'm not a snob. But these guys were very down-to-earth, some people would describe them as 'common', but they are so comical even when not intending to be so, cannot be taken so seriously in a sense. Bit of a culture shock as i've spent the last 3 years at a university, often with people with a similar background to myself, higher thinking (i presume) , a pretty parochial experience unfortunately, and days like these fill you with warmth in a way. Down-to-earthness is a wonderful thing, political incorrectness, maybe because these people are in such a crappy predicament, particularly with their low pay, that as a consequence, they are more likely to be jolly people.....
