alright, so diving into the last week of school, i'm getting all these final essays back.
Today, i was struck hard bright and early in morning with a C-/C on my history essay (OUCH!)...

but then i got my english one and I got an A-

and then to top it off, an A+ for my Communications final essay...

so i'm a little lost. i guess maybe i'm just not used to writing in a historical fashion? maybe i'm missing a significant factor into how to PRESENT my ideas? what is the style for writing history essays anyway?

well i guess i learned something today--i'm not majoring in history.

or maybe i just really really really sucked it up on my history essay.
anyway, i'm a little beat up about that.
cheers to you all, hope all of you are curled up with nice cup of coffee/tea in hand, in lieu of stressing out about finals! the semester is almost over!!

It's a must download in my opinion. Great uplifting, hi-nrg song by Sean Tyas(a god in my books). His remixes and productions are amazing so don't be surprised if you start seeing a lot of his work on this board

http://www.sendspace.com/file/tzuk5t

i don't know if there are a lot of US citizen who attend canadian medical school on this forum, but I've been asked numerous times by family and friends from the US whether it is easier to get into a canadian med school and if that's the reason why I decided to go there. i don't know if any of you have encountered this question before but i am just sick of having to explain myself. Canadian schools are NOT easier to get into than US med schools. there are parents from my church who come up to me regularly and ask me how to get into a canadian schools cuz their child don't have the best grades but would still like to go to med school. they are making it sound like canadian schools are like carribean school or something. sigh. anyhow, just wanna know if i am the only one in this situation.

Let me be the first to de-virginize this wall..

Intelligence has been defined as accomplishing a goal of your choosing.

I think this is an interesting concept. Because how else can you define intelligence? Book smarts? Street smarts? It means nothing if you're a bum on the streets.

Setting a goal for yourself, getting the knowledge, skill, expertise and attaining the self discipline and confidence to succeed is the true measure of intelligence.

I worked with an autistic kid once, and I heard a gentleman call him a "RETARD" once. I got angry because the autistic kid is actually pretty intelligent, because he sets goals for himself and accomplishes what he wants out of life. Sure, the goal he sets for himself just so happen to be his obsession with collages, trains, firetrucks, girls and cars... he still accomplishes the goal he set out for himself, so in the end, he's intelligent.

How do you define intelligence?

Discuss.
