A big 'F U' to translink, nature, and sfu

edited February 2008 in General
Missed an appointment I had, 50 dollars cancellation fee, I started walking down the mountain with no umbrella or hoodie, cause I didnt want to wear something that would mess up my hair today. Long story short I was soaked.

It was only when I was 10 minutes down the hill I said fuck it, and hitchhiked down the hill, I was thinking please dont get picked up by a murderer?

So this guy named Bryan who plays on one of the sports teams at sfu picks me up, I was surprised more people didnt put their thumbs up.

The thought occured to me--I have boobs, why am I walking when people are finally actually driving down the hill.

Anyway F U, S F U

i was stuck in that traffic for 2.5 hrs. a total of 3 hrs to get home today where regular is 40 minutes.

but yeah definitely saw many poor fellows walking down there to reach the bottom. most probably made it faster to the bottom than i but i enjoyed the warmth and music of my vehicle.

chances are i passed you when i drove by. but i think, 5$ would've been a better trade off for driving you lol. which reminds me i should've just picked up hitch hikers for 5$ a head.

    damn.

Someone knocked on their window when I walked past their car. I didn't bother to look back to see who it was though...

I was actually willing to pay someone to drive me down the hill, but this guy was really nice, he even drove me all the way home downtown, all I really wanted was to the bottom of the hill.

He was kinda cute I got his number, he had a nice car too

Know what rocks? Not having to care about getting home when I live on rez.
  • edited February 2008
I personally wouldn't wanna live on rez. Not as SFU anyways.
  • edited February 2008
Know what rocks? Not living on rez, and living downtown cause everything I need besides school is downtown

Ive wondered if itd be worth it to live on res but I dont think I could do it, unless I worked on SFU and was taking like 6 classes or if I was a grad student

Yah that makes complete sense....cuz when you're stuck walking in snow, it really matters what type of car picks you up.

Oh and the guy in the BMW must be better than the guy in the VW....couldnt be a murderer/rapist at all. No, because he drives a BMW.

    :/

what are the odds a middle class white guy is driving a bmw, haha

if the guy in the VW would have stopped I would have gotten in his car too - I was not being discriminating as who I would jump in with, could have been an old man too, didnt have to be attraactive

i was seriously getting into the first vehicle that pulled over that didnt scream murderer, i was in small heels with a giant bag with my laptop in it and a dress coat I didnt want to get wrecked from all the water

This seriously made me LOL! So, if the guy looked like Robert Pickton, you wouldnt have gotten in with him....but since he was cute, you did. So, by your reasoning, because he did not look like a murderer, that means that he was not one.

Hahaa, ok. You're lucky that you're sitting at home right now rather than having your body be found a week from now in the woods.

youre not reading into what im saying baby e,
I didnt get into the car cause it was a sports car
i didnt get in cause the guy was cute

I got into a car where the person didnt look like a complete psycho coming down from campus, it just happened he was kinda cute in a sports car

im completely aware of the risks of hitch hiking but there was just no way i could get down that hill in what i was wearing

by the process of deduction i just assumed not many psychos are coming back from school, guys with sfu jackets must go to sfu or have some affiliation, and he was relatively young, not that young people are killers, it seemed safe and it was

i wasnt the only one that hitch hiked the way down the hill,, but maybe one of those guys or girls are now missing, either way it was a good experience for me :teeth:

this one time me and my friend sarah were stuck in south surrey so we hitched downtown, but the first guy that came 'looked horny' as my friend said, so we said we were going the opposite way of him

Actually, i am understanding what you are saying.

You were cold and tired of walking and didnt have a hood on your jacket so your hair was getting wet and ruined, as was your laptop and your nice dress coat. So, you opted to take a ride to get home faster. Thats fine, i understand that.

And you saw a guy who not look "like a psycho" so you took a ride with him.

But do you not understand what i am saying? That guy could easily have been a psycho. Looks are very deceiving. Just because he had a nice car and was young that does not mean he is a nice guy....he could have raped girls in the past for all you know.

Think about it: a guy sees a girl coming down the hill in heels, a dress coat, etc. and sees that she is desperate for a ride. Fill in the blanks youself there.

Did it not even cross your mind that it could be a dangerous situation??

And this is what baffles me about so many girls, they just dont think. Like the girl that was on vacation on some island and took off with some guys she didnt know and she was never heard from again. Im glad that this hitch hiking event was a "good experience" for you, but take a moment to think about what could have happened. Maybe next time wont be such a "good experience" for you.

Think about your safety. Some people are just too trusting. Thats my point.

I guess you play life on the safe side more than I do.

Most of the time women are murdered or raped its by people they know and not strangers, maybe itll bite me in the ass one day for being so trusting.

Sure its possible I could get murdered by some strange guy, but at the same time someones boyfriend of 5 years can snap and kill her too.

I just go by chance, Im less likely to hitchhike if i was going to at 3am on a sunday night in the east side, than if I was in south van at noon.

I dont want to live my life in fear
