Sickness and Finals

edited December 2007 in General
Have any of you guys ever been sick during finals? I just got sick this week and wrote my first final yesterday, and I have another one on Saturday, and right now I'm so sick and I have absolutely no desire to study nor do I have the energy, I just feel like lying down and doing nothing.

So, my question is, how do you cope with this kind of thing? How do you study and do finals (well or the way you would normally do them, if you wern't sick) while you are sick?

Dude, I get sick during finals every semester without fail. I can feel it coming on already. I don't where I heard this, but stress supposedly suppresses immune system activity making you more likely to get sick during exam time. I still study, but I try to spend most of my time studying in bed sipping on tea or something. And look at the bright side, at least you won't be tempted to go out or anything.

Yeah, you are less resistent to disease when you're getting inadequate sleep and are constantly flooding your body with stimulants and excitatory hormones. I don't think evolution ever allowed for a three-week worry stretch, since most survival problems are over in a few minutes, tops. Over long periods of time, stress can wreak havok on you.

I don't ever seem to get sick, which sucks, because I'd love to have an excuse to get out of doing stuff. :p I haven't been sick beyond a stuffy nose in... oh, a decade?

But ykno, the best feeling is when you're completely miserable going into a final, knowing fully well that all you want is a C-. You do the final, go home feeling terrible,

When results come out, you get a B. Oh the joys of scaling!

But yes, I've been sick myself and actually have been in the above situation. Needless to day.. I almost pooped myself when I saw my grade.

Edit: Just suck it up, tough it out for a bit: After your very last final, stay in bed for a few days straight to let your body recooperate.

can you afford 1-2 days of just laying in bed and sleep it off?

last semester i got a fever 3 hours before my exam.. and i didn't think i go very well email the prof to say i won't be there in the last minute.. needless to say it was the most torturous 3 hours i've ever been thru.. @_@ especially when it was a stats exam..
