so if i call out the lic plate u bet ur ass its worth it not to mention anyone could get a lic plate...
as for recording lic plates. it dosnt matter if its legal or not im allowed to record w/e i want in public @ no point did i upload it ;)this could apply to anyone recording anything :S
and the lic above was called out cuz its probably an sfu student and im calling him/her out for doing something very fucking stupid... the moral was "what were u in such a rush for that u needed to perform that stunt"
God, I'm such a nerd.
What's more dangerous: their bad driving, or you fumbling with the video recorder while you try and catch them committing some minor traffic misdemeanor?
Get off your high horse and just drive your car.
I had to pass him because I could not stand how slow he was going. What a douche, he made me cross a double solid yellow line into on coming traffic.
and since ur being a smart ass go ask ur daddy how many people die from speeding (since u mentioned hes a cop) better yet ask him about the girl in coquitlam who got run over by the son of a policeman doing an estimated 100km/h in a 30zone killed the girl and didnt even get shit cuz his daddy was a cop
so plz stfu its a 70 zone, and for the record i wasn't driving and i wasn't even in my car lol... funny cuz my friends nicknamed me grandpa for driving the limit most of the time ;) as for complete stops, yup do those not even close
i record my drive for my own well being if anyones ever dealt with ICBC knows how bullshit their system is and they will point 50/50 fault in no time so they don't pay shit, if someone hits me ill have proof beyond doubt ;)
if u want an example of this this happened 3years ago, driving through GREEN light get t-boned by some guy not payn attention icbc appoints fault @ 50/50. so apart from the car being a writeoff u get the the whole issue of almost having died and its 50/50? oh and there was a witness which icbc seemed to have ignored that they also confitmed the car running the red..
so in other words there is no better proof then a picture and better then that is a video
as for dangerous u made a very stupid assumption because the cam is mounted i press rec b4 i leave and stop when i reach my parking spot ;)
but if society wouldn't want to see it why would they record it, and pass it on to essentially a mass content distributor? fair enough my bad in being too general in my claim "everyone" :P
SFU probably has the worst drivers. Go to a parking lot and look at some of the cars there, BMWs, modified cars with fart cans on them, Mercedes, Porches, all kinds. Add a long, wide road, a sport car and some adrenaline and you get this. Hopefully someone falls of the mountain one day and dies in a horrible, fire-y death. Saw a Porsche driver try and squeeze between traffic and the bus and ended up chipping his mirror.
posting of the persons specific vehicle and licence plate number seems to violate a certain sense of privacy which i should hope, that you would expect others to extend to you as well. should someone wish to post your vehicle make and licence plate on a public forum you've provided the "ok" since you've done it yourself (that is, posted someone elses info without their permission). posting other peoples info and not having your own posted seems a bit hypocritical.
no one is defending him.. if you've read the comments carefully you'll see what they're getting at.. but are you shitting me about the recording business? o.O"
i did not give a physical description of the driver thus u cannot relate a license plate to a face or name thus the person remains anonymous to quite a wide extent i mean how many people will run plate lookup to find out who the owner is because of the above comment?
as for would i expect the same? YES! if i were to drive like the driver in question thinking its "cool" id love to be called out by the public to show that its not sharing the same opinion as me, heck it would sure beat a ticket and better yet beat continuing this kind of behavior until god forbid an accident occurred
and I agree about the recording thing..it can be a useful thing..if you ever get into an accident, and you have no witnesses its gunna be a 50/50 split.....which means icbc gets the $$$$$....
and 120 km/hr is just plain stupid...i mean you can do it on the highway no problem (even more than 120), but on a hill with minimal visibility? buses at all hours? ...stupid
also i give some respect to the fact that you would expect the same.
however, if video surveilance is to become the norm and the slow encroachment of cctv cameras every 30 feet is to occur because society is desensitized to the nature of being video recorded then,
what is suggested by the type of behaviour you practice (i.e. recording bad drivers) is that rather then individual citizens of "goodwill" go around recording the bad guys speeding around with their dashboard mounted cameras, there should be a system in place to catch people via the government. as your actions do not provide any resolve to the issue whereas the government or law enforcement could apprehend and punish said offenders...?
if hitting a rec button before i set off the drive means i can avoid dealing (arguing) with ICBC then yes its worth it
i hope u haven't had bad experiences with ICBC and i hope no1 will :)
going 120 uphill on sfu would probably give you more of a chance to brake in a shorter distance rather then attempting to do the same on the highway as there is more resistance on the car travelling uphil because of gravity.
