    go to http://www.sfu.ca/ugcr/

there are links to lists of w q and b courses.
there are even lists of Q and B-science for artsy students, and good B-humanities B-social sci courses for science types. look under the "for students" - very helpful.

Any recommendations on a b-hum course that doesn't include much writing and not a phil course?

I'm desperate for one that I'm now considering women's studies 102 and first nations studies 101...

Good recommendation...but not offered in spring 09.

I need 2 b-hum courses to satisfy the WQB requirements and I want to take one in the spring and one in the summer.

If you are like me and completely absolute not into artsy shit whatsoever then this won't be the great easy B-Hum you had hoped for.

I'm taking religion studies, hum120 or something. It's DE but you can try the waitlist. Tech101 and 114 are also good hum courses but they're in Surrey. Not too much work in those ones, and no midterms or exams.

i'm pretty sure tech 101 has only W credit and tech 114 has b-soc credit, but neither b-hum

Geese you are demanding. Try looking at History, History courses are all B-Humanities and you should find something you like...

I'm taking no Humanities courses next semester!!! Heart = broken
    Here's a visual for ya: 3
    Much sadness...
However, I got in ASC 102 and ASC 202, so I'll be working on my Asia-Canada Extended Minor, yay!

Do NOT take IAT 100!!!! (Because I'm trying to get in... =p looks like it isn't happening though...)

Awesome! We should have study sessions together (specially since Student and I live on rez) and we can help each other with assignments... Of course by "help" I mean, let me copy.

Oh... I was going to say something...

Oh right, one of the things we have to do in that class is do an interview. From what I heard it is just interview someone on their religious beliefs. I have a friend from Jordan who now goes to SFU and he is so racist but he thinks he is just being funny and that it is normal. One day he came to school dressed as a stereotypical terrorist from the Middle East with a cardboard AK-47.

We don't even have any assignments to do. However, organizing a study session would be helpful for the final. After all, I want HUM 130 to be my GPA booster after I took a beating this semster with HUM 305...

As for the interview, I am planning to interview my Buddhist godfather, assuming he is comfortable with it.

Don't feel bad, I only took two History courses in my second year because I completed all my lower level history in my first year.

GDST 200. I got 100% on the midterm. That never happens.

Anyone taken "FPA 137 - History of Cinema II" before?

The description stated it might be of interest to students in other programs and it seems like an easy course to me.

Yeah I heard that too... But I think he's okay, but then again I got a "low" mark on my first assignment (jerk "friend" took an idea out of my one of my images and used it for his entire project so I had to replace it with a backup crappy pic... i'm too nice  ) but got nearly perfect on my second assignment.

He and the TAs always seem to disagree when teaching and makes every lesson seem disorganized though =p

its not a big deal, hes just not as easy as others. But he does give critical critique which is a good thing.

in the other class I heard of of my class mates got an A just for drawing a crappy stickman comic

Was your friend in the first lab? There were some crappy comics in there... some with stickmen...

i heard that IAT 100 isnt "easy" if you are not good with the computer/arts :S
    is that true?
  • edited March 2009
What do you mean "good with computers/arts"? Cause I feel that digital art and hand-drawn art is different. I have a friend who's a great painter in real life but she can't do anything on a computer except "sketch".

Anyways, nowadays a university student who can't use a computer is hard to believe... and you don't really need to know much for IAt 100. but Jack taught us the shortcuts for copy and paste because there are actually idiots out there who don't know it.

    yeah digital art
tooK IT in high school and it was just horrible
maybe i'll take hum 102 then
i heard that class isnt that bad

IT in highschool was just Flash, wasn't it? Honestly, the first and second assignments are super easy. First one you just take 3 pics and talk about them, second you make a comic (i suggest you take pics and photoshop them into comic-like images instead of using stick figures) and the last is a flash assignment, which I bet you would ace if you took IT.

HUM 102 is okay, but my prof (Pearson) was SO PICKY. He doc marks big time for small things like the types of DASHES you use... And the final was jsut plain weird.
My friend is taking HUM 102 with Mirhady right now and she seems to be having a lot of trouble...

I've only taken two HUM courses, so I could be wrong, but I wouldn't recommend anyone taking a HUM course if they want an easy A.

IT was way more than flash
    but anyways,
i'll think about hum 102, its DE and workload doesnt seem too bad
    thanks :P
my other option is FNST 101
