Student Loans

edited December 2012 in General
Hey,

I received an email about my student loads:

The following amount has been deducted from your BC student loan
funding and will be sent directly to SFU to be applied towards your SFU
student account.

The details of the request are as follows:

Confirmation date: 2012-12-29

Outstanding balance: $ 2,583.23

Amount requested: $ 1,000.00

Loan

Total loan deduction

Requested

$1000.00

                                 2012-12-29

So this means they will automatically deduct the amount ill receive and deposit into my SIS account? Thats great but why not deposit the full amount and the balance  be refunded back to me. This saves me time of depositing it myself like previous times where they just deposit into my bank account. Any one has this issue before?

  • It might be an accounting error on SFU's part or perhaps you have done several course changes/drops/swaps etc. and other things affecting the balance SFU requested from StudentAidBC. When I received my loans, the full amount on my SIS account was paid off automatically and the rest deposited to me.
