Extremely worried grade 11 student, please help (psychology)

Hello everyone, I'm currently a grade 11 student. I hope to get accepted into the Psychology program at SFU once I graduate, but I'm afraid I won't be able to get in. Semester 1 just ended, and I failed Chemistry 11 and Pre-Cal 11. I'll be doing FOUNDATIONS MATH 11 in semester 2, which starts on Thursday, and I'm doing BIOLOGY 11 in my first semester of grade 12 since there's no room left for this year. My parents forced me to take Chemistry and Pre-Calculus because they have really high expectations for me, and I didn't have a choice. I've been extremely bad at math since grade 4, and no matter how long or hard I study, I just don't understand it. My English 11 mark is 90%, and my aerobics mark is 95%. In semester 2, I'll have Spanish, which I'm really good at, Family Studies, which I'll also be good at, and Social Studies which is one of my strongest classes also. I'm hoping to get at least a 60% in foundations math.... I'm really scared that because I failed these classes, I won't be accepted into university. Although I'm making up for Chemistry 11 with Biology 11, and Pre-Calculus 11 with Foundations 11, I'm so so nervous that they'll see that I failed at first and will just trash my application. ;( I have such big dreams of becoming a psychologist in the future, I really want to help people out but I'm scared that Chemistry and Pre-Calculus ruined it for me. If I don't get in, my parents will be so disappointed in me and I don't know what I will do... I'm so so scared. In grade 12 I plan on taking courses that I'm excellent at, such as English 12 , English Literature 12, History 12, Geography 12, Comp Civillization 12 (these are all approved courses). Since we apply for Uni in the Fall in grade 12, how will the uni be able to see my grade 12 marks if I'm not even all complete with them? I'm scared that they'll only rely on my grade 11 year which sucked, and not my grade 12 year which will most likely be straight a's :( Do you think I at least have a chance of getting in? I'm losing sleep because of this every night please help.

    Well the requirements to get into arts are as follows:

    General requirements

    • English language requirements - click for details.
    • English 11
         (or Français première langue 11)
    • Language 11
         (includes beginner's language 11, American sign language 11 or 12, and language 12 courses)
    • Science 11
         (includes Applications of Physics 12, Biology 11, Chemistry 11, Earth Science 11, Forests 11, IB Environmental Systems 11, Principles of Physics 11)
    • Foundations of Math 11 with a minimum grade of 60%
         (or Pre-Calculus 11, or Principles of Math 11, or Principles of Math 12, or Applications of Math 12 or Foundations of Math 12 or Pre-Calculus 12 or Calculus 12 with a minimum grade of 60%)
    • English 12 with a minimum final blended grade of 60%
         (or English 12 First Peoples, or Français première langue 12 with a minimum final blended grade of 60%)
    • Graduate from high school
    So in those courses it doesn't matter what your grades are. You just need to complete them. From what you have said it seems like the only thing that might be an issue is the 60% in foundations of math. That said though I imagine foundations of math is significantly easier than pre-calculus, so it might not end up being as hard as you think.

    Otherwise you need english 12 and 3 more approved grade 12 courses. This is where your marks matter. Do well in those 4 courses, and simply complete the above requirements and you should be able to get in no problem.

    Here's what you need to do.
    1. English 12
    2. Select 3 courses from

    BC First Nations Studies 12, Calculus 12, Comparative Civilization 12, Economics 12, English Literature 12, Foundations of Math 12, French 12 or français langue seconde 12, German 12, History 12, Japanese 12, Law 12, Mandarin 12, Principles of Math 12 or Pre-Calculus 12, Philosophy 12*, Punjabi 12, Social Justice 12, Spanish 12, Sustainable Resources 12.Sciences: Biology 12, Chemistry 12, Geography 12, Geology 12, Physics 12.

    You must have a MINIMUM of 86% average in those 4 courses to get into SFU's Arts and Social Science program. The 86% minimum average changes every semester, but usually not by 2%, so aim for atleast 86, but 88 if you can do it.

    ^ 86% for arts?  i dont think so.  last years was wayyyyy lower.  science was at only like 86/87?
    since your english is so good and you're supposedly good at all the other courses like history, you should have no problem getting in.
    u self report them and they conditionally accept you.  then they confirm your acceptance at the end of the year.

    just try harder in math, ask for help.  60% really isnt that hard at all to achieve.

    The reason arts is 86 is because it uses 3 approved grade 12 subjects which are extremely easy compared to Math and Science (Engineering or software Systems).

    The reason science is 86% is because it's way more competitive, but it uses much harder courses to calculate the average.
