Coop commute time

Blu
edited July 2013 in General
So I've been shortlisted for an interview for a coop placement at UBC, trouble is, it takes me a bit over an hour to get there.
Initially I thought I wouldn't mind since I might not even be considered, but now that I am, I may face a daily commute time of 2 hours for the duration of the placement.

What would you guys do?
What sort of commute times would you find acceptable/questionable?

Insights appreciated.

  • I commute longer than that to school each day. If the job is good, then I think it is worth it.
  • Lol do you know how many students have an hour of commute each day to school!?! Anything more than 90 minutes seems alot. Also how many transfers? If it's anymore than 3 I would also consider that alot for everyday. I commute one hour each way everyday and its really not that bad. I use it as my internet browsing time so I don't have to waste time at home doing that.
  • nap timeeeee
  • If you find that you don't want to take the job before the interview, just go to the interview anyways, give it your best and just don't accept the job offer when they give it to you.
It's good practice for interviewing anyways and it leaves a bad impression for the school if you don't show up for the interview at the very least.
  • ^smart guy.
  • As Tofu has mentioned, I'll probably attend the interview for the practice.

Man I've been spoiled by ~30 min commute times.

    Thanks for all your comments!
