6 courses per semester

I'm thinking about taking 6 courses next semester and taking a leave off work. They will be 300 level math and cmpt courses + 1 b-hum. I usually do alright(B-) working 20 hours and 4 courses. Am I being crazy?? I will be a fifth year student and im sick of being at school !

    5th year and you still need to do that? How many courses were you usually taking on your other 4 years, just out of curiosity.

    No judge. I'm taking 4 every semester and one in summer school and I still have a full year to do of like 3 each.

    Sometimes only 1 or 2 when I first started uni. Recently its been 3/4.

    holy shit well that's only like part-time so I guess why you need to take a leave off work you prolly worked your way through uni with a full-time job so you probs have like no student loans at all eh

    If you have a good work ethic in school, anything is possible.

    I'm also on track to graduate in 5 years.  I didn't take much course load in the first few years too. So don't feel alone!

    Just take 4. Why are you in a rush to graduate anyways? If you take 6 you might not have enough time to do everything they ask of you or even enough time to study for all those subjects. If you think B- is just ok, then you arent going to have fun with 6 courses. You might even waste more time if you fail some of them and have to retake them. just take it easy, no rush to graduate.

    I'm in a rush to graduate because school is fucking expensive. 

    But my OCD of getting the highest GPA possible prevents me from going as fast as I can. Which is kind of counter-productive because at the end of the day, employers don't even look at your GPA, they just see that you have a specific degree they're looking for in your resume and voila. Clearly it's not that simple, but basically.

    I dunno just watching all my high school classmates graduating is making me jealous haha plus I'm excited to take some of these 300 level courses. I think I'll just take 5, while taking a leave off work so I can boost my gpa.

    Well i'm going to grad probably in my 5th or 6th year but that's because i'm doing co-op. Sure you might feel jealous that your friends are graduating already before you but i know that i will get a job alot easier than them because i have work experience and they don't. Plus more money to get off my loans if i work during school. Also employers look at your degree and most importantly your relevant work experience.

    Six courses might be pushing it, especially as you see a lot of people taking four.  Five is probably a good way to go.

    I think OP doesn't have a life and there are limits to how many credit hours you can have in one semester....18 for most and 25 or something for Engineering

    Lol no I don't have a life. 6 courses x 3 credits would be the max. I'm not gunna do it anyway. I'm gunna stick with 4 and not die.

    i don't know why you would do that to yourself. Honestly, university is when you can stay up as long as you like doing whatever you want (given your classes arent super early and that you finish your work). I feel that i have more time with 4 courses than i do at work. When you work, you work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, you have to wake up early so you have to sleep early everyday. The only time you get off is the weekends and even then, i only get 1 day to sleep in in a week. Just enjoy it, don't rush through it because having 6 courses is just asking for depression.

    ^Tofu is a wise grasshopper. Mental issues are a serious problem with making everything about school and studying. You'll think you won't be susceptible to it but it's just like any other disease. Without proper prevention, it will get you, just like a common cold.

    And before you know it you'll be in the school's health and counselling center bawwing all your life problems like yours truly.

    6 courses are too many, if you can handle 5 - that's already a big load. And I totally understand that you want to get out of here. And I agree, SFU helath and counselling don't know anything at all, friend of mine went there for mental help, boy, they know absolutely nothing at all.

    And everybody should know GPAs mean nothing in the working world even though a lot of students think that what it is all about.  People with lower GPAs are usually much better in the working world.

    Thanks for the advice guys I only took 5 and quit my job.
