taking courses at other institutions

Has anyone had success with taking courses at other institutions? 

Do you need a Letter of permission and is it hard to get it approved?

Please share your experience!

    Yes, you need a letter of permission and you need a valid reason. Last time I looked at the form there were a list of reasons on it. I got my letter approved but changed my mind after, so I didn't go through with it.
