I took ECON 102 and really enjoyed it. I didn't find it difficult, but I had taken two economics courses before taking 102 so I already had a fair bit of background knowledge. Even without that though it is a pretty straight forward course. It is not required for ECON majors so most of the kids in the class are either International studies students or people taking it as an elective.
In terms of subject matter the course is titled World Economics. It ends up boiling down to some basic macroeconomics (inflation, GDP, inequality), a bit of basic econ in general (supply/demand, benefit from trade) some economics history, and looking at different parts of the world throughout history where interesting economic events took place.
I would be a little careful with ECON classes. If you are not interested in the subject matter you will likely find them boring, and if you do not focus on learning the stuff you can end up doing quite poorly. Some of the stuff is not obvious, so if you don't pay attention when it is taught you won't be able to BS your way through it on the test. Also the class is scaled, and usually it results in being scaled down, not up.
