Withdrawl. What does WD mean?

edited May 2014 in General
I am taking crim 320 via distance ed and I am now realizing that I would be better off taking it next semester in person instead. If I drop it now I will have a WD on my transcript. What does that mean? Will it affect my GPA? Will it affect my course repeats number? I don't think a busy work and family schedule will be good enough to apply for withdrawal under extenuating circumstances.

"The Withdrawal notation of WD identifies a course freely dropped by the student. The notation WD is not a grade and does not affect the grade point average. Different time periods are in effect for intersession and summer session. For term specific dates, refer to"

WD does not affect your GPA just means you withdrew from the course. People could try and make assumptions as to why someone withdrew, but all it means is that you did. Since it doesn't affect GPA I assume it does not count as a repeat when you retake it. It looks like you have until June 9th to drop the course online. As long as you do it by then you do not need to show extenuating circumstances.
