MACM 201

edited November 2014 in General
Im planning to take MACM 201 for Spring 2015 and there's 2 professor available, A. Punnen and L. Goddyn. Anyone have experience with either of these two profs?

  • I've only had Punnen for upper division courses, he's very nice. Make sure you sit up front though as hes very short an only writes on the bottom half of the board. Assignments were also fair with him.
  • I heard that Luis Goddyn is good but I can't comment otherwise. I was planning to take MACM 201 next sem, but looks like I needa lighter course load. I'd only take MACM 201 with Luis Goddyn though, if I can, but that's just me.
  • I took MACM 201 with Goddyn last spring. It was a great class. His lecture is super clear. If I was asked to pick the clearest professor in SFU, I'd probably choose him. When I took it, he gave a quiz every week based on homework questions he assigns. There were two midterms: the first one was easy and the second one was hard and short on time. What makes his course nice is that he aims to finish grading the first midterm before students' course withdrawal deadline, which is usually around week 4 or 5. So you can decide whether or not to continue the course after seeing your mark on the midterm. The course itself is tough. Good Luck!
