SFU Business Questions

Hello,

I'm currently in Grade 12 and have been accepted into SFU's bus one program. I will mostly be staying in SFU's Surrey campus, but I also want to know about the Burnaby campus. I'm planning on studying Marketing and International Business, as well as getting a joint major with SIAT. Can anyone provide any comments on areas such as co-op, lectures, international exchanges, class sizes, student life, events, etc?

Hey all!

Me and my best friend are moving to Canada soon to start the fall semester at SFU.
We are trying to figure out the best place to live...We want to party lots, have fun an meet lots of new people. Should we live in Burnaby or go closer to Central Vancouver? And if we go closer to the good party areas, how long will it take to get to SFU?

i added a class that was reserved and then the system dropped me out of the class before open registration. now when its open registration, i cant re add the class again. it shows the class number entered is a duplicate. try another. does anyone know how to solve this problem? thanks

I'm an English major, and my degree progress report says I need Engl 2XX. However, this class does not exist at SFU, and I didn't transfer from anywhere else. What does this mean?

Business Admission/ Other Questions

I am currently a science major but I am not quite happy with this and I want to switch into business. I have taken some of the 9 lower-division courses required for business admission, but one course, BUS 251.....for a lack of a better word..."frightens" me. I was in it for three weeks and I found myself so incredibly confused I dropped out. The thing that worries me is that I actually TRIED to understand. I went and saw my TA and the professor...and I just.didn't.get.it. So because of this I was considering going to another college/university for a year such as UFV or Kwantlen where they have taken BUS 251 and split it into two separate courses and break up the material.

So now my question...finally (haha)

*Do you think it's stupid to switch out of SFU, take the course somewhere else (most likely getting a better grade in the course than I would at SFU) and then switch back into SFU a term or two later?* ....do you think SFU would even let me back in, even with a high GPA?

Oh and another question...

*If I suck at computers, will I struggle in BUS 237*...and *is BUEC 232 "death" if you are not a strong math student/not great at excel?*...or are these courses (with lots of hard work), ones you can actually do decent in?

Alright, so I am just starting my first year this fall. I know I'm thinking very far ahead, but I don't like things catching me by surprise.

Anyways, my future career plans are to become a English/Socials High School Teacher. I adore History and English equally and I can't decided how I want to work out my degree. I've been thinking of doing a double major, English and History, and a minor in Educational Physiology. My first question is; is that even allowed? I'm not really sure about double major + minor. I haven't seen it anywhere. My second question is; how many semesters would a double major add onto my time at school, as I am on a 'timed scholarship' that runs out after five years.

Need to take a phil course as SFU Crim department loves giving us crap load of requirements to meet so simple question 100 or 120. Which one is easier?
