Can profs let students into classes that are full?

I'm currently in first place to get in this lab and I'm wondering if prof will make exceptions to squeeze me in if I never manage to get in the end...Pretty worried since labs are coming up next week. I plan to go to the class anyways, but I still have a chance of not getting in so I wanna know if it's possible or is it out of their power?

    E-mail the professor, they can sometimes let you in even when the class is full
