How Sony Killed the PS3

edited March 2007 in General
I came across an interesting article at Playfuls on ghow Sony killed the PS3. Their top reasons were: manufacturing costs (20GB $805.85 / 60GB $840.35), backwards compatibility issues, and high game development costs. Do you agree?

"The facts show that Sony did not revolutionize gaming with its product, it only brought losses to the company and disappointment to its fans. I personally confess that I love them for the PSP, but I hatefem for the PS3

Sony is a company headed downhill due to their over confidence. Back in the 80s and 90s, Sony was seen as the "best" brand when it came to electronics. Now that theres so many other options with much cheaper and more stylish products, Sony has been really underestimating its competition. Companies like Samsung, Toshiba, and Apple have all really taken a foothold in their respective areas of electronics whereas Sony has relied on its reputation as a status symbol...as we can see by the PS3 that doesn't work when theres other (better) options.
