ESL in SFU

I have a friend who currently resides in Taiwan that wants to come over here to do some studying. It was brought to my attention that there is a program in SFU that allows students to enroll in a ESL program with no particular requirements (e.g. TOEFL, etc). I have really little information about that program, can anyone help me out here?

That's awesome your friend wants to study at SFU!

I found an Admission Guide for International Students (PDF). While the whole thing would be a good read, page 9 refers to the English language requirements for admission. Looks like if your English isn't up to par, you can take a 10 week course to qualify. Or there are always non-academic English language learning courses (LOTS of those in Vancouver! And SFU has some too)
