few questions about buyback

edited January 2008 in General
so im thinking about going to buyback either tomorro or on friday...my first time!

but im not sure if u still get the price listed on the buyback search engine, if ur book has been used more than once already

i have a math txt book dat seems to have been used at least 3 times before me...(looking at the sales labels on the back) and i bought mine in quad books last term.

oh and also, do dey give u back less than what it says on the buyback search engine if ur book is not in the sharpest condition?

thanks in advance everyone!

you should have gone the week of exams...chances are higher that they wont buy them back now

you get the price thats listed im pretty sure, as long as theyre still buying, and regardless of condition- if they deem it acceptable...if its too worn down they just wont take it

like randomuser said, they pay the highest prices during exam week.
I've gone the week before school started to sell my textbooks and was not impressed with the amount I got back, so I learned my lesson and sold them during exams this year.
It depends if the school bookstore has reached their quota for that textbook, i.e. if they still need some textbooks they'll pay 60% of the NEW price even if you bought it used. if they have enough of the textbook, they'll just pay you some portion of the price...much less than 60% of the price.
