MBB / Bus Admin Joint Major

edited February 2008 in General
Are any of you doing this joint major, if so wuts it like. I'm first year and was thinking about going into this but I'm not completely sure how it works. Is doing this more valuable than doing a double major in the two subjects or even a major/minor, and does this make a difference when it comes to employment. Any advice?

wooo another joint major in the house! I'm a joint major in business and comp sci. You have to decide if you want a BBA or a BSc as I do.

I was on the route with MBB and BAdmin but plans changed really quickly once i got into MBB, alot of work and this major is definitely not do-able within 4 or 5 years. Unless you like taking 6 courses for all 3 semesters. Ka-put.

I'm doing the same too (BBA degree though; probably can't handle the likes of MACM 316 and other CS courses :p).

Unless you've already completed higher level requirements, I believe the benefits of a joint major is flexibility and also the fact that if done properly, you can graduate with the 120 credits like usual.

Having a joint major gives you the opportunity to also be qualified for jobs in which having knowledge of both areas would be considered an asset.

in the ideal world, you're going to have to redo some courses because you've slacked off and dont forget the 20 credits? or so of WQB on top. and maybe Co-op? dont forget the famous "you've been shafted for the class because sfu gave u a late reg date"

it adds up in the long run

    :D

SFU students are lazy. No one takes a full course load. People even complain about taking 4 courses in one semester.
