How to opt out of various student fees

edited July 2010 in General
Hey everyone!

Money is tight so I need to cut down on my tuition and fees as much as possible. Does anyone know all the various fees that are possible to opt out of. Also, how would I go about opting out of these fees? No fee is too small, every bit counts lol!

Thanks!

Other people can confirm, but I don't think it's possible to opt out of any fees, save for the medical insurance (but you have to prove you are covered by another plan, such as your parents). U-pass, athletic, student fees are all mandatory. The exceptions are that you don't have to pay athletics and student services fees if you are taking entirely off-campus/distance ed courses. Additionally, if you take solely off-campus/distance ed courses, you don't have to pay for u-pass. Student activity fee is mandatory though.

This works for me, I am covered by my parents insurance. How would I go about opting out of this?

    Thanks for the help!

Visit ihaveaplan.ca, it should have all the details. The opt-out period is generally from the start of classes until the end of the first month (September).
