Distance Education Courses - Couple Questions
  • I'm taking a couple courses via distance education in the spring term (new student at SFU) and was wondering where I can find a booklist, where I can purchase my textbooks, and how exams work for these courses. Anyone that can shed light on this would be much appreciated.
  • midterms/ final exams - usually done in class (set time / set room) unless specified in the syllabus = http://code.sfu.ca/exam-schedules/1121/final

books - depending on which course you are taking - http://code.sfu.ca/courses-by-term/1121
refer to this list - it will tell you which books are required

where to buy the books? - school bookstore (Barnaby campus.. usually)
    http://sfu.collegestoreonline.com/ePOS?this_category=141&store=472&form=shared3/gm/main.html&design=472
(go early ... you dont want to wait in line........) or buy them online .. or used

    good luck :)

  • Thanks for the info - Any idea when eservice will be up to order books? It's not working at the moment...maybe in a few hours..
  • Does anyone know if you take Distance Education courses will it show on your transcript that you took it online or will it only show the course and grade like the rest of the courses.
  • It shows up like any course taken at campus to the best of my knowledge
  • I have a question.......
How can i choose the course material to pick up or mail to me?
I can't find it in student information system... please help
or I just go the West Mall Centre to pick up the material???
    Thank you.
