Class Offerings

edited June 2013 in General
Is it just me or are some courses offered backwards within the year just to keep you here for as long as possible?!?!?!?! For example, I really want to take CHEM 360 this fall but its only offered in the Spring. Classes like CHEM 371 and 372 which have CHEM 360 as a prerequisite are being offered in the fall. It does not make sense to me why they would do that, pretty much forcing us to waste a semester. Some other friends noticed this as well in other programs

  • Mostly due to instructor availability, timing, and budget.  You're lucky cause in other departments some courses NEVER get offered yet are still in the course outline.  Yeah post secondary education these days are all about profits anyways.
  • Thanks for the reply, i was just wondering. And yea i agree, but i think everything is all about profit now, haha.
  • This "backwards offering" thing is probably something some old white guy thought up as an "innovative" idea and brought it up in those stupid meetings in the leather wheelie chairs with all the Board members and investors/major shareholders aka bunch of old white people in suits in those meetings you see every morning at SFU in that room in the corner. Fuck them.
  • ^^Yes the President and the Board of Directors are laughing all the way to the bank....hahaha students are suckers and education is easy money-maker
