edited July 2013 in General
Has anyone ever taken this? I know the outline says four essays and participation but wanted to know how easy or hard it is?

    4 essays wow
  • I know someone who took this version of 135 and said the essays were fairly long as well so its probably not as easy as an in-class version (depending on the prof)
  • IT SUCKS DONT TAKE IT. There are 6 essays, and so far half the class is failing.
  • ^how long are the ssays?
  • 1250 words
    1500 words
    2000 words
    ^ 2 of each
Also, the weird thing is that for some essays are due on the same day. For example there are assignments with 2 essays, one 1500 word paper and one 2000 word paper. Due on the same day
  • Holy. Shit.
  • Great... I still need to take 135 and my only options next semester are dist ed or with Wilson but lectures are at 5:30pm which is hard with work. And i cant tell when/with who it will be offered next Spring because CRIM takes forever to post future schedules
  • Wow, well good luck. Also, there's an insane amount of readings. The writing isn't even bad, but it's directly based off the readings. So YOU HAVE TO READ! I highly recommend not taking this course through distance ed. Holy crap, I thought it would be easy... At least there's no exams...
  • exams> papers by farrrrr.
  • Depends on the course, for crim 135, there's sooooo much info. If we were expected to memorize all this, I'd go crazy.
  • Even though there is a lot of info to memorize, I would rather take two exams for 135 worth 40% each (which I had) than have to write six essays IMO
  • ^i agree. See with papers you need to include a lot of shit, and make sure of it. Exams, you can study everything but only get tested on like 60-80% of it. Plus multiple choice etc.

Six essays is just brutal man.
  • Well, I'm pushing through haha. 2 more to go for us!
