I got a second year student with a declared major and CGPA of 3.1 and my registration date is November 20.

    HIST 355 or (HIST 374)
    HUM 332
    HUM 216
    HIST 422 or (HIST 307)
    HUM 340 or (ARCH 336)

I can pretty much forget about taking any of the upper level humanities with my late reg date.

Same here. Let's hope you got academic advisors who are cool with putting people into already full classes. What year are you?

Don't worry, the first year kids who will be taking these courses won't be registering until the 22-23.

i tried to pay it just now through gosfu but it said i had no fees or deposits due. What do I do about that?
  • edited November 2007
Worst case scenario, you can go wait in line at student services. They'll take your payment and process it within the hour.

This is an OK method. Afterall, taking payment and stuff is the only thing Student Services is good at, they fail at everything else.

If the deposit went through, your overall balance should show "-100.00".
you can find that in your account summary under campus finances.

Do I have to complete one from the list before I apply to get into the Econ dept? Are they offered every semester? it seems like there are only like 2 or 3 courses from this list that are offered each semester and it's usually not the one I want :(

    REM in Burnaby or Surrey?

If you still want CMNS 110, I would suggest giving the adviser a call. I phoned her yesterday while I was making my choices and explained that I will be declaring my Major in Communications. I guess they have about half the class reserved, that sounds like a lot to me.

for REM100, if you have some prof ____ Irwin (forgot first name), make sure you have food or something to help you stay awake because he just drones on and on, resulted me in falling asleep in all his lectures but i still made it out with a B+ thanks to a good environmental science background.

you'll get 3 large assignments(won't take more than a week each), final was easy.

I have John Irwin next semester, fantastic. How would you rate the course aside from his lack of interesting lectures?
  • edited November 2007
i'm doing a major in environmental science so i find resource and environmental management interesting, the course itself gives you a good realization of what the main concern is in the modern world, and that would be the extent of human anthroprogenic impacts. It provides you with a better understanding of the pressures our planet is undergoing and a better appreciation of what we have and will have to combat for the next 60 years. i'd give the course itself a B.

It's an external requirement in my Major, but I was looking forward to taking the class anyway. The Science designation is the part that is throwing me off (never been too gifted at science courses). I guess I'll wait and see what happens!
  • edited November 2007
    hey meesh,

im not 100% positive, but i believe you need to have the group requirement done, b4 u can apply for the major. if you hav completed all the checkpts just bring your transcript to the adviser

as for when those courses are offered, only the core courses i believe are offered every semester

    other ones are cycled in

take for example 368, the past 1.5 years ive been following, its only been offered during the fall and spring, and not during the summer semester

My enrollment date was pretty late...November 22.

So far I am enrolled in:
    CRIM 103
    SPANISH 102, and
    LING 110 (Wonder of Words)
    - Has anyone taken this course or know what it is like? I have no idea what to expect and am now kind of thinking to not take it...(I too am looking for "GPA boosters" and wondering if this maybe helps or is a relatively easy course?)

And I am also on waitlist for:
KIN 193 (Exercise health and performance), and
    CRIM 220 (Research methods)
