How do I fix my sleeping schedule?

edited February 2008 in General
I don't usually get much sleep, but lately it's been getting ridiculous. I mean before I would get maybe 6 or 7 hours of sleep a night and then there would be the odd night where i would get less than that. but these past couple of weeks I've been sleeping about 4 hours a night--usually 4:30am - 8:30am.

i think part of the reason is because i am just so busy this semester--i get my 4 hours of sleep and then i'm basically at school for 13 hours...but now i can totally feel my body getting weaker-- i also checked how much i weighed after a month and i lost around 10 pounds O.o ...so to sum it up, i look like death.
but the thing is, i don't get tired until 4:30am. I've tried to go to bed earlier but i just can't get to sleep so i end up lying there.

i need to get my sleeping schedule back on track, pronto!! any tips? any one have the same problem before?

ps. and i'm pretty sure it's not stress because i'm actually very calm throughout the day.

try not going to bed for a whole night and then stay up till like 11-12pm the next day
    usually works for me

Indeed. Don't sleep until about 8 or 9 tomorrow night, go to bed, and you'll pop up around 7:00, rested. And if you're up at 7, you'll be tired again by midnight. Thus, the cycle is broken. :)

taking melatonin is said to reset your clock, so take it around 9pm, lay in bed and you should fall asleep
it only works when your in the dark lol

My problem with sleeping is that I can never get out of bed. Even with my alarm clock going off every five minutes, another alarm going off and my cell phone going off every five minutes, it still took my 40 minutes from the time the first alarm went off this morning, to when I actually got up. This has been a relatively good day since I haven't been up before noon in the last week and I hate that, it is such a waste of a day.

After running more than three miles in thirty minutes on a treadmill will get me tired. A shower afterwards and a ride home will set me up for a mood to sleep.

Perhaps you are over-caffeinated and need to detoxify by sweat secretion.

I would recommend you eat two plain slices of any type of bread before running.

    win.

when i get sore enough i don't feel like moving at all, and what else is better than laying unconscious somewhere for mental and physical rest.

I love that the black guy is wearing the black suit, the asian chick is wearing the yellow suit, the white guy is wearing the white suit, and the girly chick is wearing the pink suit. If there was a Mexican ranger I bet those producers would have put him in a refried beans colored suit.

Besides, Power Rangers was ruined as soon as they added the single super-rangers like the green and white ranger. Totally unbalanced the whole damn thing! Bah!

Usually, working out is suppose to make you sore and tired from energy drain but I guess everyone is different. After a long cardio workout, breathing cool fresh air feels so clear than before the exercise. Add a nice cold beverage to a relaxing recuperation period afterwards and life will feel good. :teeth:

By the way, how did the topic change to Power Rangers from fixing sleeping schedule?
