Hairdressers

edited October 2008 in General
Can anyone recommend a good hairdresser that won't cost a fortune?

I am willing to pay more than what a regular haircut and styling would cost because my hair is so damaged and it needs to fixed, but i dont want it to cost an extremely high amount of money.

But anyway, money aside, does anyone know any really good ones in the Vancouver area? Either from what you have heard or from your own personal experience.

I need to fix my hair, i just cant live with it anymore like this :(

Believe me, ive seriously considered it, a la Britney....lol! But then i would look like a freak!

    :/

I need someone who is trendy with new hairstyles (as my current hairdresser is NOT), and can give me something that looks absolutely stunning! I just dont know where to look really.

The trendier the hairdresser, the more it's gonna cost obviously. I like to get my hair cut at Azzy's at Cornerstone. It's convenient, costs under $20 (for guys) and they actually know what their doing when it comes to actually "styling" the hair rather than just "cutting it."

Just throwing that out there...I'm sure some of girls on the forum know some dope places

I'm not guna lie, I've been there twice.

My girlfriend's best friend is gay, so had to go on his birthday, and for some other reason i can't remember, lol

Not too bad there, if you can handle guys grabbing your ass and trying to hold your hand, lol. I assume they were messing with me since I was with my girlfriend the whole time so they knew i was straight, lol

    =/ $300??

My haircut is $15 max =S
Thought I'm planning to wavy digital perming my hair.. $150 XD
  • edited March 2008
^$300 is what i was told the price was from someone else who went there, so i dunno.

I know, its a lot, so if i can avoid spending that much, i will, but my hair is so damaged, i need some major help. And apparently they can fix anything. Dammit, i wish i could remember the name of the salon though.

Is it damaged because it has been color treated / bleached and all that?
I'm not sure that is fixable but to grow it out and cut it instead.
Even excessive use of straighteners that burn and fry the hair isn't fixable I don't think...

I'm not sure though because I've never been in that position =\

I know it's out of the area you're looking at, but I go to Michaud's in Cloverdale. It's like the middle of nowhere, but they do an absolutely amazing job.
If you go, ask for Sherri. She's the manager and so, so cute.

No, I dont color my hair. It just has horrible split ends, and my hair keeps breaking off cuz of them! Its all because of the hair straightener, i know that for a fact.

Plus i havent been to a hairdresser in about a year because i hate my hairdresser now and havent had time to find another good one, and god, my hair is just getting worse the longer i leave it. It already had split ends about a year ago when i went to her, and she barely did anything to it and she charged me like $160 for it or something like that. So why not go to one who actually might be able to help and pay a little more? I might just do that after all even tho i dont want to pay more :(

Thanks! Even tho its out of my way, it might be worth it to go there get it done, lol. :)

I just looked at the link, the prices arent too bad either. Might be worth calling them up and asking if they can do anything for me.

    WOW WOW WEE WAH.

damn i thought my place was " big shot " just cause even i had to make appointment bookings for my barber who's my damn uncle.

it almost makes it look like a haircut = part of a spa day?

Mentor is really good. It's close to where I live. If anyone lives close to Kerrisdale in Vancouver, it's on West Boulevard. 30$ for a decent haircut.

Yeah you also use ever female body product known to man. Might as well cut off your penis and get a vagina.

I go to the older Iranian lady who works at Coquitlam Center, beside the food court. She does a good job, plus she has enormous tatas that rest on my shoulders. It's comforting.
