I live in Tower D in my first year and I had some fun when I was there. The facility is superb because the towers are only three years old. The one bad thing about towers are that you have to buy a meal plan because you don't get a kitchen.
During my second year, I lived in Shell House. The best thing about Shell House, as well as McCow is that you get to cook. However, the washroom is not that good because Shell House, if I am not mistaken, as old as SFU itself.
One of the unfortunate things about my Rez experience is that I still felt left out and that there are less cool things to do than I expected. While I am not staying up on campus in Fall 2008, I MAY return in Spring 2009.
If you decide to come to rez and if you want to make friends, then stay FOR at least 2 semesters!!
If you want to make friends, etc., then you have to be patient here. If the first semester doesn't go well, then stay for the second one, and eventually, you'll make friends, etc!
do they really make you live by the contract you sign, cuz that would be pretty horrible....only 2 parties at the same time? no kegs?
i wanna move out for spring semester but reading that contract made rezlife seem boring..
o ya..are they allowed to search your rooms for banned items lol
Very.
What worries me is that they may hear my (insert any nasty *hit here).
Sorry I didn't see you.
Whoever built the place ought to be shot.
There is only one residence at SFU. So you should live in that one.
I think they are allowed. I mean, they have keys to all our room anything in case of repair and what-not. However, I don't think your room will be searched unless you have be caught doing something terribly wrong. I mean, if you are going to bring anything questionable, it is best to consult your CA and the RHA, then the Residence Housing.
For example, if Rez will hold another paintball trip and I want to bring my own gears, I better inform anybody I can think of because I don't want the Burnaby ERT on my door. Shell is a great building. McCow is ok, but they should definitely upgrade the kitchen a bit. First, there is insufficient shelves for everyone on the floor, second, the kitchen is somewhat inferior to Shell's. I feel like I am in the fuc*ing 70s in my kitchen in McCow. You don't get to pick which specifically building you want to live in. You only get to choose between towers, dorms with kitchen, or townhouses.
rez seems a lot more expensive...
its newly renovated too so seems like a good deal cuz ill be living there with 3 to 4 ppl
rent is pretty much the same.
