When do you know sex has occured?

edited January 2009 in General
Hypothetical, two people are feeling it and lets say someones mouth is on someones penis, then they decide for one reason or another to stop, and noone had gotten off.

Would you consider that sex?

I'm a believer that oral sex isn't technically sex, so I would say no.

i have a feeling this isnt hypothetical lol

I agree with Nicole. The penis must make some sort of entry into the vagina for it to be considered sex.

In a related matter, I think oral sex is great!

The individual didn't even start, how can you call this sex. My interpretation of sex usually involves some form of insertion/ penetration and orgasm/ cum by one or both party. The thing I disagree with Nichole is that I view both oral and anal sex as a form of sex as well.

Did the guy complain about blue balls afterward?

So according to your interptation, you don't consider the lesbian style 69 (commonly featured in "The L Word") as a form of sex?

It's sex when I impregnate the female and she gets an abortion.

    /sarcasm

Vagina and shithole penetration by a penis is consider sex. Any other projectile into any other hole, no.

Boy, keep this heterosexual, no homosexuals.

So you guys dont think oral sex where someone cums is sex? I think oral sex is sex, since the world sex is in it...if someone gets off.

But say if you dont consider my hypothetical sex...would it change if there was oral to penis interaction that was like 5 minutes long, if noone came?

Shouldn't this be in the Love/Relationships section?

If there is sucking and insertion of genitalia involved, then it is totally sex. To keep this both heterosexual and homosexual, 69 would also be regarded as sex because both party sucking and licking each other's vulva and clitoris.

Look, if you don't think the scenario you outlined above is sex, then some virgin male who has no idea what he is doing is having sex with a virgin female who TOO has no idea what she is doing isn't sex because nobody cum.

If my hypothetical self had oral sex before vaginal sex, I hypothetically still considered myself to be a virgin.

Exactly, that's why oral sex isn't intercourse. Sex = intercourse. Oral sex = foreplay.

I was 17 and, looking back, I probably would have waited a little bit longer but I wouldn't have chosen anyone else (that I know of at this moment) to lose it to.
I turned 18 a week later, but he was 27 at the time which sounds oh so wrong.
    was't vaginal?

To me, the only way you can lose your virginity was when you have consented vaginal sex. Anal and oral doesn't count.

To me, I think my definition of sex is the following:

Oral sex without orgasm = Not Sex

Oral sex with orgasm = Sex

Penetration, regardless of whether anyone has an orgasm = Sex

I think you misinterpreted what I said. To put it plainly, I had oral sex before vaginal, and after I had oral sex I considered myself to still be a virgin. So that old post that you dug up (impressive) was vaginal.

    Kapeesh?

So you consider oral and anal sex to be sex, but if that happened before vaginal and the person was a virgin, it wouldn't be sex?

Well if you put it that way its real obvious...

A lot of people just call oral sex, oral, though. I think in your mind too, you can still feel like a virgin after going down on someone, but having penetrative sex the way you feel just changes, theres some kind of mental difference.

but then comes the girls who've done oral/anal even got finger action, but never had vag/penis and still callin themselves virgins, which is kinda wack dont cha think

That was one of your most memorable posts.

No, my position is that oral, anal, and vaginal sex are all forms of sex. However, you can only lose your virginity thought vaginal sex. You can have as much oral and anal sex that you want (ouch!), but you will always be a virgin. I have heard some stories where girls would rather give their boyfriend head just to preserve their virginity...

Nope, I don't think it is wacked. I just don't think that oral and anal sex is significant enough to signify the end of someone's virginity. Besides, I have yet to read a story where someone had anal before they had vaginal sex.

I think it contradicts itself a little. If anything, I would differentiate between being sexual and having sex. But I understand your point of view.

Wait wait wait, you don't consider ANAL, sex? Anal would be more serious in my mind than vaginal, theres so much more involved.

    My position is that...

Anal Sex is sex. However, ONLY vaginal sex can take someone's virginity away.

No wonder I am doing so terribly in my tutorial discussions...

put it this way.. if getting oral sex or finger action is considered sex... you'll have a whole bunch of devirginized girls on the market.. and that can't be good news to guys or anyone for that matter right?
  • edited January 2009
i think it is sex cuz ur still penetrating the mouth lol.... that doesnt sound very nice does it?
  • edited January 2009
I think penetration requires some kind of resistance you're pushing against.
  • edited January 2009
Nah, not considered sex to me.

    Penetration = sex.

As in the penis being inserted into the vagina or the anus.
  • edited January 2009
i really don't see the point to this topic
we have names like "anal" and "oral" for a reason...
sex is dick in pussy as simple as that, if its anywhere else u use one of the other terms...
what next? a titty fuck is sex? a hand job? common now.. they all have names for a reason lets not generalize :P

How is there no point to my post? Anal sex, oral sex, vaginal sex, they're all forms of sex.

The point of this topic is the metaphysical component of sex as an act, when do these acts or components of them constitute sex in ones mind, clearly by others posts the definitions you point out arent as clear cut as they appear.

A titty fuck or a hand job are another category, and im not even sure what that category is called, do you?

I don't know what you mean by saying not to generalize, because I'm trying to get specific attitudes about them.
